Finally, I take HVMN ketone esters as a direct source of ketones that I can take while also consuming carbs. A typical keto diet is so strict on restricting carbs because carbs trigger an insulin release, which stops fat burning. Then begins the carb cravings, sugar addiction/crashes, and, over the long term, insulin resistance. So a typical keto diet, as originally prescribed as a medical treatment, has people consuming next to no carbohydrates to force the body into ketosis.

Race Report: Antelope Canyon Ultramarathon

First ultramarathon in the books! The Antelope Canyon 55km was a beautiful course in Page, Arizona, passing Horseshoe Bend and running through the Lower Antelope Slot Canyon. The course had some tough technical sections and was made more difficult as we were running mostly in sand. Thankfully, it was well organized with plenty of aid stations along the way. Revisited: I wanted to share this because I have a different view on balancing work and health now than in early 2016! I re-gained my health January -May 2015, re-committing myself to my training and staying active.
