Coach Ian – Week in Review: What I’m reading: Sacred Cow: Diane Rodgers and Robb Wolf  Humankind: A Hopeful History Something I Tried: On Friday, I did a recovery session with my mom as we practiced some breathwork techniques and yoga. We started off with a 15 minute session of Ujjayi breathing and modified Nadi Shodhana Pranayama (alternate nostril breathwork). We finished up with 30 minutes of yoga. The only thing I didn’t like was probably the pumpkin seeds in there, but that wasn’t a major issue. And this was CGM tested and confirmed not to spike blood sugar. Raw Egg Yolks – Ha. I find his perspective an interesting insight into how racism is formed and perpetuated amongst. Sacred Cow: Diane Rodgers and Robb Wolf – This one is an important read on the power of regenerative agriculture and the mistruths spread about consuming less meat. Me Talk Pretty One Day – David Sedaris Humankind: A Hopeful History Product I’m trying: Sfuels… Read More »Coach Ian – Week In Review: (8/30/2020)

I had to switch up my training this week due to the current air conditions, and opted to skip my long distance run and to do a 48 hour fast, while tracking my blood glucose levels with a CGM instead. I wrote about my 2-Day Water Fast wearing a CGM here. I found this interview to be a very helpful guide: Dr. Peter Attia… Read More »Coach Ian – Week In Review: (8/23/2020)

This week’s Community Spotlight feature is on Ali Ahmed, a professional boxer at Dreamland Boxing. Ali is the most disciplined athlete I’ve ever met – he stays in shape year round and never fluctuates in weight. In this interview, we discuss his amateur career, winning the Golden Gloves, the Olympic Trials, his diet, training during Ramadan, and adapting to the current shelter-in-place.
