This Week at Dreamland Boxing 11/28/2020:

Happy Thanksgiving to the Dreamland family!

Update: 11/29/2020

Due to the latest COVID-guidelines, Dreamland Boxing will be shut down for the month of December.

Scheduling and Safety Updates:

As you all may have heard, effective Tuesday, November 17, 2020, 12:01 a.m., the County of Santa Clara is moving back to Purple Tier, which means, in short, all gyms must cease all indoor classes. Therefore, starting Tuesday, 4:30 p.m., all our classes will be conducted outdoors.

Coach Mark’s Tuesday, 6:00 p.m. class, and Coach George’s Thursday, 6:00 p.m.class will be moved to 7:30 p.m. If you signed up for one of these classes, and would like to cancel because it is later, please advise ASAP.

Please always check your email for class sign-ups and the latest updates.

Dreamland Boxing Training:

A Dreamland Throwback:

Once upon a time, before we were fortunate enough to partner with various functional fitness gyms in the Bay Area, we used to all of our training in-house. Back when I was boxing (10+ years ago), I remember Sarge taking us to the parking lot and telling us his truck broke, so we need to push it. Of course, he was joking – and this was our typical workout. Taking turns pushing his truck down the street.

Coach Ian’s Classes:

As you may know, I am currently donating my time to host virtual online boxing classes for the members of our 501c(3) non-profit boxing gym, Dreamland Boxing. As an active member of Dreamland, you will receive the materials and video recaps of each lesson through my website under the “Premium Drills” section.

This week went back to the fundamentals, focusing on sitting down on the left hook, and movement..

Outside of our technical boxing areas, we did some fun kettlebell complexes. You can view our full practices here.

We were off Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving, so no outdoor class this week. You can view all practices and related drills here.

Meanwhile, Santa Clara has been downgraded back into the purple-tier, meaning that no indoor classes are allowed! All classes have been moved outdoors (as mine have been the entire time).

Reminder:

You must be a registered member to sign up for a class, you cannot just drop-in! If you are a current member, you will receive a sign-up link to reserve your time slot every Saturday. Reserve right away because slots fill up quick (by Monday)!!
