This week at Dreamland Boxing: • Chris Washington, Sandra, and Oliver all got rounds in at MXN Boxing in Salinas at their grand opening • Iris Rivera came by for sparring • Vicky Qianyue Zhao came by for sparring • Rudy Puga Jr (9-0) came by for sparring • More sign-ups for the Dreamland Masters World Championships and a preview of the title belt! • Intro sparring on Thursday for our new members • The amateur team continues to train for the “Spring Showdown Bay Style” on 6/23 at King’s Gym in Oakland

Boxing in Cork, Ireland

Cork, Ireland ??. Loved seeing this boxing wall of honor at Bishop Lucey Park of Cork fighters, honoring many such as Paddy Martin, Tommy Hyde, Mick Leahy, Jack Doyle, and Albie Murphy.

Boxing in London (2018)

Last stop in London. Had to make a quick stop by Rooney’s Boxing. Soaking up knowledge from former Commonwealth Champion and top 10 middleweight contender, Richard Williams. There’s a difference between being a great BOXER and a great TEACHER in this sport so we talked about the different ways of teaching boxing fundamentals. Thanks for having me!

This week at Dreamland Boxing: • Angel Chavez came by for sparring • George from Salinas came by for sparring • Some members of the team saw Elias Anderson make his pro debut at the SAP Center • Elias and Laird Anderson came by the gym on Thursday • Spartan Boxing Gym came by for sparring on Thursday • The event scheduled for 6/1 was rescheduled as they are working on some new developments • More hard drills and sparring as usual!

Elias is making his pro debut on May 12th • Pedro Cruz stopped by for sparring • Vicky Qianyue Zhao (@victoriousvikizhao), @akajordantwo, and @aradinsky got some rounds in • Ivan Gonzalez and Cesar Macedo are matched up for the “2nd Annual Guardsmen Boxing Night” at the San Francisco Design Center on June 1st

I believe that we need to get rid of the stigma behind mental illness through empathy, compassion, education and truly understanding its causes and manifestations. Everyone is affected by mental illness – whether it be a personal battle or with someone they know. I will be running the Horseshoe Lake Trail Run in Palo Alto, CA on May 6th and am raising money for D2E, a Non-Profit dedicated to erasing the stigma surrounding depression.
